Milk safety and quality

Driven by both formal and informal sectors, there is need to convert the latter. The informal milk market, which accounts for approximately 70% of the whole sector, typically escapes effective health and safety regulation. 

The Safe Milk Kenya initiative embarks on a multi-pronged nation-wide campaign to sensitize on the need for adoption of safety and quality milk practices. 

This intervention requires concerted efforts to uphold the highest standards in dairy production, safeguarding the health of consumers, driving per capita consumption, securing the future of our dairy industry and enhancing trade opportunities.  The campaign strategy includes all players in the dairy value chain, from famers through to consumers.

We aim to ensure that our communities have access to safe milk by:

Reaching +10M Kenyan consumers

Training +5,000 farmers on safe dairy practices
